Steel Beam (RSJ), defined

Definition

A steel beam, often called an RSJ (rolled steel joist) or a UB/UC section, carries loads across an opening, for example where a load-bearing wall has been removed. Its size is set by calculation.

We size steel beams to the Eurocodes, check the bearings and padstones, and issue stamped calculations your builder can work from.
